Trade codes for The Indigo Disk exclusive Pokémon

Obtaining the version exclusive Pokémon for The Indigo Disk DLC may feel difficult at first if you don't have a friend playing the opposite version of you. Thankfully, YouTuber Austin John Plays has stepped in once again to organise a set of dedicated trade codes for these Pokémon.

Please keep in mind that, even when using these codes, you may have to search multiple times for a trade partner and, as we move further away from The Indigo Disk's release, the number of people using the codes below will naturally release. It doesn't hurt to try though!

Here are the trade codes for The Indigo Disk version exclusive Pokémon:

  • Alolan Vulpix for Alolan Sandshrew (vice versa) - 0027 0037
  • Cranidos for Shieldon (vice versa) - 0408 0410
  • Gouging Fire for Iron Boulder (vice versa) - 1020 1022
  • Raging Bolt for Iron Crown (vice versa) - 1021 1023

Thank you again to Austin John Plays from YouTube for organising these codes.

It's important to note that you can only catch one Gouging Fire and Raging Bolt if you're playing Scarlet and only one Iron Boulder and Iron Crown if you're playing Violet. For this reason, you may not want to risk trading these Pokémon.

If you do decide to trade these Pokémon, it is considered best practice to return the Pokémon you receive to their original owners immediately after the trade. This is called a touch trade by the community.

To use these codes, you first need to ensure you have an active Nintendo Switch Online membership or else you won’t be able to trade with players across the Internet.

With that sorted, it’s time to open the Poké Portal and connect to the Internet. Now all you have to do is select 'Link Trade' followed by 'Set Link Code'. This is where you’ll enter one of the codes listed above and, after doing so, select 'Begin Searching' to see if someone is using the same code as you are.
